As much as I love skincare, sunscreen has always been the one step I struggled to stay consistent with. I already owned Black Girl Sunscreen, but my routine required applying moisturizer first and then sunscreen afterward. More often than not, I’d forget that second step or convince myself I’d put it on later.
Since we’re officially in the middle of July, I decided it was time to find a product that would make daily sun protection effortless. My goal was simple: a moisturizer with high SPF that actually felt moisturizing.
After a quick scroll through Amazon, I realized there weren’t many options. Some products offered SPF that was lower than I wanted, while others felt more like sunscreen than a moisturizer. Then I came across Aveeno Protect + Hydrate SPF 60, and it immediately stood out.
I had already been curious about Aveeno because of its use of prebiotic oat, an ingredient known for helping soothe and hydrate the skin. Thankfully, this sunscreen delivered on exactly what I was looking for.
From the very first use, it became one of my favorite skincare purchases of the summer.
I apply a generous amount over my face, gently massage it in, and let the rest melt into my skin. The finish is comfortable, lightweight, and never feels greasy or sticky. Best of all, I don’t notice a white cast at all, which makes reapplying throughout the day much less intimidating.
One feature I didn’t expect to love is how versatile it is. Instead of keeping separate sunscreens for my face and body, I’ve been using this one for both. It cuts down on the number of products in my routine, saves time, and makes it much easier to remember to protect my skin before heading outside.
The only downside? The bottle is just 12 ounces. Since I use it on both my face and body every day, I can already tell I’ll be repurchasing it fairly often. Still, for the comfort, hydration, and SPF 60 protection it provides, that’s a trade-off I’m happy to make.
